Many individuals had immigrated to Cairo metropolis pursuing the modern dream echoed by the leading power in the previous century, leading to an unplanned transformation of the demography of the country reflected noticeably through a sudden eruption in the population, causing a massive of unplanned urbanization expansions, forcing in alteration of agricultural fields and tombs into informal homes and shelters. An urban holistic vision is proposed following permaculture ethics in an attempt in providing basic human needs through the sustainable perception that can be applied to Cairo’s informal settlements and other similar environments.

The Flag point is a ceremonial site where the flag of Mexico is proudly flying to the pride of Culiacan city, located on the peninsula-shaped land where the confluence of 3 rivers is witnessed. A minimalist design is proposed, framing series of events, mainly commemorating the Mexican flag through a defined open plaza.

Inujima Island has located in the Seto inland sea in the south of Japan. There are no cars, no highways, shopping malls, no skyscrapers, it’s an endless source of stunning landscape experience. Taking into consideration that an art project was already introduced to the area by SANAA studio, as a group we decided to propose a school of art and design.

Pima Cotton is one of the oldest crops grown in the Salt River Valley, first harvested by the Hohokam Native American Tribe by irrigating the crop with canals from the Gila River. To address the decline of the cotton industry and maximize what remains our proposal is to grow all organic cotton, use alternative water sources, establish cotton eco-industrial parks on new Tribal Land, and utilize drone and automated technology

Strada Del Vino, or the Wine road, located in the proposed Vineyards that will take place in Medau Su Cramu  area -  Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy. It’s a district which introduced in a strip of land that separates Molentargius pond from a large Saltworks area.  The proposal is simply a soft mobility path that passes through this desolated district.

The proposal focuses on the creek area on the lower part of Peralta Hacienda historical park. The project proposes the reshaping of the creek through new contours, allowing the light filtration process to take place.

Bancroft Plaza

Bancroft PIazza at UC Berkeley campus is a landscape design project conducted through the Landscape Plants Identification course were a total design reformation took place throughout an existing space right across Wurster Hall at UC Berkeley, CA. The area was redesigned through a series of islands, each embraces its own identity with special trees and shrubs. More than 18 plants are being introduced along with preserving most of the existing ones. The newly proposed trees and shrubs were carefully chosen concerning their light, shade, and water needs.

EXPO 2020, which is supposed to be held in Dubai - UAE, a country which is known for its architectural modernism prosperity and its hot climate. Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, sub-themes being Sustainability, Mobility, and Opportunity area the main themes selected for the EXPO. The proposal aims to create a sustainable temporary structure by using innovative technology systems that can tolerate the hot climate in Dubai and present the sustainable vision of the UK.

Sea Level Rise - Marin City

Marin City, a small community located in Marin County in California, located 1.5 miles northwest of downtown Sausalito. During our design studio, we were focusing on implementing various ecological design tools in an effort in slowing down the Sea level rise through various events of 3, 6, 9 feet high along the next 80 years.
